Privacy Policy

ToolMill is designed to limit unnecessary data handling and to keep routine utility work local, transparent, and easy to inspect.

This page explains the basic privacy model for ToolMill. All published ToolMill tools are designed for browser-local processing rather than server-side processing of your working input.

In other words, ToolMill is intended to help with common utility work without asking visitors to hand routine copied material to a remote conversion service whenever a browser page can do the job directly.

Local tool processing

All ToolMill tools are designed so the useful work happens directly in the browser on the device you are already using. Your working input does not need to be uploaded to ToolMill in order for a published tool to produce a result.

This matters for common utility tasks involving copied text such as logs, tokens, JSON, config fragments, exported values, draft content, and similar working material. Local processing reduces unnecessary exposure of that material to third-party services.

The privacy advantage here is practical rather than theoretical: fewer routine uploads, fewer unnecessary processing handoffs, and a simpler interaction model that visitors can inspect more easily.

What ToolMill does not claim

ToolMill does not claim that every browser, extension, device, or network environment is risk-free. Users should still make informed decisions, inspect what a page does, and avoid entering highly sensitive material into any tool they do not understand or trust.

Local browser processing is an intentional design choice, but it is not a substitute for common sense, good device hygiene, or your own judgment about what information belongs in a browser session at all.

Storage and caching

ToolMill may use browser storage and service-worker caching to improve repeat load speed, installation behavior, and offline support.

These storage and caching features are part of how ToolMill supports faster repeat visits and offline use. They are not meant to change the local-processing model of the tools themselves.

Advertising and third parties

ToolMill may display advertising to help cover operating costs. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies, browser behavior, and applicable law.

ToolMill’s goal is to keep the site useful and straightforward, but third-party advertising components may still have their own measurement, delivery, or policy frameworks that are outside ToolMill’s direct control.

Visitors who want to understand how advertising partners handle cookies, measurement, or identifiers should review the relevant third-party policies in addition to this page.

Email contact

If you contact ToolMill by email, the information you choose to provide may be used to respond, investigate a bug, handle a support request, or address a privacy question.

Do not send secrets, payment information, or other highly sensitive material by email unless you are prepared for the normal risks of email communication.

If a question can be explained without including sensitive working material, that is usually the better approach.
